Finding My Feet EP

Dan Nightingale Too often do you see people trying too hard to break new ground from the get go and coming off as pious and arrogant in the process, which is exactly the opposite of what new and young acoustic artist Matt Good is doing on his debut solo EP. It's immensely refreshing to see someone stray away from the somewhat delusional attitude that fixates on what is going to be "the here and now", and quietly admit - in rather a beautiful and earnest way - that for now they're just finding their feet. Favorite track: New Adventure.

I'm trying to find my feet, They may be in a box, or maybe in a shoe closet. I'm trying to find my feet, I can't walk without them, can't make my way back to you. When I've had my fill of change, And I hand it all to you, When I hear your voice it's the music that reminds me of home. I'm trying to find my feet, They may be in my shoes but I think that they're too big to fill. I'm trying to find my voice, So I'll bless every word, and try to fit them all to give to you. When I've had my fill of change, And I hand it all to you, When I hear your voice it's the music that reminds me of home. When I see your face it's the face that reminds me of home. When I hear your voice it's the voice that reminds me of home.

Unfamiliar trees of auburn brown, Shine a light which leads me on my way here. Not a lot to say on nervous ground, When my hands are tied I'll forget what, I'm waiting for, The next big thing to happen. New adventure's about to start. Looking over all the goodbye notes, Never thought I would be looking back, Still I find myself on this long road, Sitting patient now I'm on my way, Waiting for, The next big thing to happen. New adventure's about to start.

Settle 02:44
Like a stampeding train or a speeding bull It hit faster than light hits the eye. When the pocket watch says 'well it's your time to go' Don't fear, there's no need to cry. Cos like seeds need good time and good room and they'll grow to deliver a flower that's twice as sweet. Well the roots of our tree they'll run old but they're deep, And they'll only run deeper till the next time that we meet. There's a road, there's a house, And there's pictures and music, And it all makes sense in my head, There's a rose in the garden that carries the spark, Set by us both long ago. There's a song in my head, with quite a special tune. I wrote it just to sing to you. And maybe when we're old and grey we'll think of this song, Cos all I hope is what I say will come true. There's a road, there's a house, And there's pictures and music, And it all makes sense in my head, There's a rose in the garden that carries the spark, Set by us both long ago.

about

Written in the latter half of 2013, 'Finding My Feet' is a collection of songs inspired by autumnal imagery and varying ideas of change.
I hope you enjoy the album as much as I did writing and recording it.

Best enjoyed in a dimly lit room with some fairy lights and candles, the way it was recorded ;)
